Utk masa hadapan, jika repositories telah tiada, libdvdcss2 and w32codecs boleh ditemui dan istimewa untuk Ubuntu dilokasi berikut:

Dua codec ini penting utk DVD dan untuk memainkan pelbagai media seperti .avi .wmv dan sebagainya di Ubuntu, dan pakej agak sukar ditemui di Ubuntu. The Debian .debs

Alltray running on KDE: Showing:

Dengan AllTray anda boleh dock apa sahaja application yg tanpa tray icon (spt Evolution, Thunderbird, Terminals) ke dalam system tray. Run dgn sempurna dgn Gnome, KDE, XFCE 4*, Fluxbox* and WindowMaker*

*tidak menyokong drag 'n drop .

anda boleh menggunakan repositori ini. ini kerana, sesetengah software tidak dpt dijumpai dalam repositori ubuntu

sudo apt-get install grub-splashimages

kemudian, gambar boleh didapat di

/boot/grub/splashimages

 setelah memilih gambar, letak link ke gambar itu

$cd /boot/grub
$sudo ln -s splashimages/debsplash.xpm.gz splash.xpm.gz
$sudo update-grub

Apa yg kita buat tadi ialah link  /grub/boot/splash.xpm.gz ke debsplash.xpm.gz splash image, dan updated the grub menu.

Notes: salah satu splash ada Gentoo logo, satu lagi fiesta.xpm.gz pula mcm tak betul sket  

oleh itu:
$sudo apt-get install streamtuner xmms

skang anda boleh mendengar beribu radio.. layan!

Ejon's blog tidak dapat memaparkan maklumat terkini.

Ubuntu mmg tidak menyediakan codec mp3, tetapi kita bleh menginstall sendiri sama ada menggunakan apt-get install atau synaptic.

Kini terdapat cara yg lebih mudah iaitu EasyUbuntu. EasyUbuntu merupakan applikasi yg amat berguna utk newbie dan sesiapa saja yg malas nak install satu2..

kelebihan Easy Ubuntu:
- Multimedia (sound codec & Video)
- Firefox (Plugin spt Java, Flash player, Real & sbgnya)
- Archives (utk Compression file spt RAR dan ZIP)
- Peer to Peer (aMule dan Azureus bit torrent)
- MSN (aMSN, msn messenger client dgn webcam support)
- NumLock (NumLock on setiap kali switch on pc)
- Logo (Ganti gambar kaki Gnome dgn Logo ubuntu
- 3D (utk Driver graphic card driver spt Nvidia dan ATI)

- Klik pada EasyUbuntu
- Klik Run

- biarkan Updating Repositires

- Dan pilih yg berkenaan dan klik ok dan tunggu sehingga selesai.

Warning: EasyUbuntu-2.3.1 hanya serasi dgn Ubuntu 5.10 Breezy Badger.

check sums amat penting kerana tidak akan mensia2kan cd yg anda burn tetapi broken package..
